Women Against Radicalisation Network (WARN) aim to fight radicalisation through education, empowerment and engagement. Women have powerful voices and they have the power to educate future generations, inspire agents of change and protect the vulnerable against the evils of radicalisation. Founded by Henna Rai two years ago in response to her first-hand experience and tragic personal losses faced due to Islamist extremism. WARN provides a vital platform for women from all backgrounds to meet and discuss concerns and issues addressing the fight against extremism. Reaching women and children in their communities, WARN includes them in the dialogues taking place politically and socially – therefore addressing the gap and providing inclusion of women and minority sects previously polarised from “mainstream Muslim” male dominated public arena, seeking greater equality; despite facing a barrage of abuse and obstacles for speaking out.
