COMMUNITY ORGANISATION AWARD FOR RACE, RELIGION & FAITH –
The Black Child Agenda was set up to support children and parents who are going through issues regarding exclusion from school, college or university. Since 2013 this organisation has personally dealt with over a thousand cases of unlawful exclusions from mainstream schools. As government statistics clearly state Black children (boy’s in particular) are a protected group within the education system, however they are treated harshly and with little support or understanding. The Black Child Agenda uses guidelines legislation and policies to assist parents to navigate the educational system. They host regular conferences and events to educate parents, community members and young people on how to tackle the bias way in which they could potentially be treated. With a 99.9% success rate of overturning Exclusion’s, The Black Child Agenda is the leading organisation for the rights of the Black child and family.
