A BEAUTY queen who battled through years of bullying at high school has been nominated for a national award.
Clare Hurst, of Heckmondwike, has been shortlisted for the lifetime achiever prize at the National Diversity Awards.
The winners of the national awards will be revealed at a ceremony held at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral on September 15.
She said: “I am truly overwhelmed by something as amazing as this I am proud.
“I want to make a difference and help others to show that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
“If I can help others will make me truly happy and hoping one day I can set up my own mental health group.”
