POSITIVE ROLE MODEL AWARD FOR RACE, RELIGION & FAITH –
Founder of Natasha’s Bollywood dance school, over the past 11 years Natasha Koshti-Symons has not only developed her dance group but also her work into defeating racism through education. Growing up in a largely undiverse community in Plymouth, Natasha strives to integrate her mixed heritage into her local area. Her dance school is inclusive to a range of ages, race and abilities, and Natasha unites communities through the medium of dance, building confidence, self-esteem and knowledge of a different culture. Through her dance school, Natasha hosts fundraising events and over the years has raised thousands for charity. In her spare time, she runs Bollywood and cultural workshops, creating a safe environment to ask questions and have interactive sessions about Asian culture. Natasha also runs workshops for special educational needs and has volunteered in Sri Lanka to educate and learn about mental health.
