With nearly 40 years’ of community experience in voluntary, health and statutory sectors, Juney Muhammad wears many hats in a variety of roles. Her professional background is in community and youth, health education and health service management. Juney’s roles within Community Education, Lewisham Young Women’s project, Family Health Isis, Sure Start and currently mental health hospital, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, all have in common is empowering people from diverse and disadvantaged communities, concerned with social welfare. Juney is innovative and tenacious lead in a Mental Health Promotion service, one of a kind in the country. For over 14 years she has been designing and developing training for local authority health services, front-line staff, managers and communities. This remarkable individual has accepted the challenge to give a voice to the elephant in the room when no one else does.
