The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is the UK’s compensation scheme for financial services, helping people get back on track by protecting them when authorised financial services firms fail. Since their launch in 2001, the FSCS have come to the aid of millions of people and paid out billions in compensation. In the last year the FSCS was a founding signatory of the Business in the Community (BITC) Race at Work Charter increasing the number of BAME managers to 17%; whilst 29% come from BAME backgrounds. Part of the BITC BAME Mentoring Circles programme since 2014 FSCS provides a strong network of mentors and corporate sponsors who nurture BAME talent. In addition, 35% of their leaders are women; they have LGBT representation on their Executive Team and in February 2019 they launched the world’s first online age-friendly employer profile.
