SHORTLISTED NOMINEE:

POSITIVE ROLE MODEL AWARD FOR DISABILITY –

Award-Winning Lifestyle Blogger and Open University Student, Elin Williams, is the creator of My Blurred World. She was diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa when she was 6 years old and was registered blind at 12. Elin combined her experiences and love of writing to produce a platform where she hopes to raise awareness of vision impairment through refreshingly honest content. Elin was named as one of the top 100 most influential disabled people in the UK in Shaw Trust #DisabilityPower100 list in 2018 for the positive influence she has in the online world, and won in two categories at the Teen Blogger Awards. Elin has appeared on TV and radio programmes in Wales to share her story and has campaigned with charities such as the RNIB in order to spread her message. While she lives with the sight-stealing eye disease RP, Elin shows us how a person can continue to thrive with sight loss.
