POSITIVE ROLE MODEL AWARD FOR AGE –
Edleen was a toddler when she moved from Sierra Leone to South-East London and was the only student from her school to go to Oxbridge. At Cambridge, her passion for supporting underprivileged people came to the forefront as the college’s Access and Academics Officer. As a black working-class female from a non-selective comprehensive, she was an atypical student and mentally struggled in a challenging environment to graduate at only 20 years old. She started as an Investment Banker and has held various roles across Financial Services, leading to her current role as a Director and the Co-Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Social Equality at KPMG. She’s the youngest Director in the KBS department of over 3000, the People function and on the People Leadership Team and is the youngest Black Director in the firm of over 16,000 people. She mentors a plethora of young people and in 2019 was named a “We Are The City” Rising Star.
