POSITIVE ROLE MODEL AWARD FOR RACE, RELIGION & FAITH –
Understanding the community that we serve is vitally important to Dharmesh, he is enthusiastic about improving relations, especially with the Hindu community. He is at the forefront of introducing Hindu community/culture to the force. He joined the Black Police Association to bring about a positive change. Dharmesh takes part in recruitment campaigns to attract more BAME into the police force, forging stronger links with local Communities. Dharmesh helped to deliver the ‘Natural Born Leaders’ programme to college students with the intention that they would later enter BAME communities as future role models and leaders. Dharmesh helps student officers/potential new recruits by mentoring them through processes. Outside of work, Dharmesh volunteers at various initiatives like; Homeless Hampers, Bradford Curry Project, Dementia Café, Hope not Hate; bringing awareness whilst also struggling with severe arthritis and Mental Health issues.
