Community Rail Lancashire is an umbrella group of 4 community rail partnerships (CRPs) that cover a total of 7 lines or routes – one of the biggest groups of CRPs in the country. Community rail works to connect the community to their local rail lines and routes, ensuring that local development reflects the needs of the communities that rail serves. Community Rail Lancashire is dedicated to equality, diversity and inclusion, working especially with young people to ensure that all members of the communities their lines serve are able to confidently experience, use, and be involved within rail. During the last decade, this superb project has assisted tens of thousands of people in confidently accessing rail, giving them a key life skill, and ensuring that all sectors of communities feel welcome using public transport. Their programmes include the likes of On Track To Train & Women Who Wander.
