Cheshire Constabulary was founded in 1857 and serves a population of over one million people spread across a geographic area measuring 919 square miles. Cheshire encompasses areas of great diversity, where pockets of extreme wealth contrast with areas which are amongst the most deprived 10% of locations in Britain. The Constabulary is leading the way to make Cheshire the safest county in the country. They’ve made significant progress in delivering real improvements in equality and diversity, and remain committed to providing services that respond to the needs of different communities and to protecting all from harm and threat. In order to be the employer of choice, Cheshire Constabulary have developed a number of initiatives to increase workforce from underrepresented communities, and introduced bespoke individual development opportunities to colleagues within our policing family covered by the Equality Act 2010.
