COMMUNITY ORGANISATION AWARD FOR GENDER –
Body Positive provides support for people with questions or issues around sexual health, relationships, sexual orientation and gender identity. Originally set up in 1992 to support people dying with HIV, the organisation has grown to challenge and champion the health and wellbeing of sexual minorities and other people disproportionately affected by sexual ill-health. Their one-to-one sessions give people the social and practical tools to be resilient to prejudice, and helps them to make informed choices about how they can best manage their sexual wellbeing. Their free counselling provides life saving therapy that helps people come to terms with their identity. This outstanding organisation has registered 1389 LGBT+ people across Cheshire with 120 people registered to their Silver Rainbows project, supporting LGBT+ people over the age of 50, reducing isolation and providing opportunities for physical and social activity.
