Romy Worthington.
Nominee Profile
Location: Milton Keynes
Hello wonderful people! My name is Romy and I am a 21 year old disability advocate with a strong focus on raising awareness of Tourette Syndrome, PANDAS/PANS, Autism, and Chronic Illness.
I began my advocacy journey at the age of 12 through social media, and began making regular YouTube videos on Tourette's at age 14. I have also written a poetry book on chronic illness, mental health, and neurodiversity, and created "The Autism Workbook for Teenagers." I also enjoy public speaking, and have given a TEDx talk about why it is wrong to assume children are "badly behaved" and instead, look deeper to find out what is really going on. I have also been involved in multiple webinars raising awareness of Tourette Syndrome and mental health struggles.
My aims are to create an inclusive society, allow people to accept and understand themselves, and find answers which can help them have a better quality of life. Thank you so much for the nomination, it means the world.
