My name is Lauren but I go by the name DJ Connie Von D. I have been a DJ now for almost 12 years covering all genres but specialise in rock/metal music but have recently been fortunate to do what I love full time with my own business ELDER EMO UK.
ELDER EMO UK is about bringing a generation back together. The alternative scene get left behind by so many venues in keeping up with changes and trends in a time it really should not of been. Not only did I grow as individual through this scene but I knew it was needed and so, THE ELDER EMO BALL was born back in December 2023 in my hometown Preston - and it was the best decision I ever made.
What was suppose to be a one of event in December 2022 SOLD OUT and was demanded back instantly. We are now in April 2024 and I have hosted multiple events in which 3 of them were all SOLD OUT. ELDER EMO UK has now become a small and successful little world to which I now call my full time self employment which is truly a dream come true. Plus, working with so many incredible artists and local brands is just the icing on the cake and I hope to take it national and eventually international.
Along with this I am currently organising my own equipment so I can offer my services to private events such as birthdays, weddings, corporate events etc. I just want progress and expand as a local women with a small but mighty business. I have a lot of other plans and collaborations I can not disclose yet but they are big and exciting. But one big event I am excited for is my first festival called EMOTIONAL DAMAGE which is 4th & 5th May at The Ferret, Preston.
I am so grateful for this nomination - I am a hard working one woman show giving this my all and to see it recognised by my peers and the gratitude I get is an award in itself - Thank you.
