Nominee Profile

Location: Aberdeen
When Laura discovered she has ADHD in her late 30s, she was horrified by the bleak statistics, the scale of the diagnostic crisis, the ableism of media coverage... and the rest!
She made it her mission to raise ADHD awareness and share her own lived experience in the hope to help and connect others like her.

Through the Podcast ADHD AF, she has spread the word that ADHD IS NOT A TREND, ADHD IS REAL, that self diagnosis is valid and sufferers are not alone.

Two years on, Laura is about to embark on her third UK tour to connect and empower ADHD Adults and raise awareness in her own unique way... BINGO!
The ADHD Bingo concept supports those whose ADHD presents in a similar way, to hers. Gameifying the learning process, creating a reward system and providing information, validation, karaoke songs and laughter to help lift the spitrits of the dopamine deficient.

ADHDAF Podcast has been credited for helping ADHDers identify their neurodivergence, access diagnosis, support in the workplace and education, find self acceptance and even saving lives.
With listeners in 198 countries and territories, and psychiatrists as far away as New Zealand recommended their newly diagnosed patients listen.

Alongside local campaigning for those unable to access ADHD assesment, Laura collaborated to create the Anti Ableist ADHD Media Coalition, and Planet ADHDAF Online Peer Support Community.

Laura is the founder of the ADHDAF+ Charity in Scotland, England and Wales. It's aim is to unite and empower ADHD Adults of Marginalised Genders through Peer Support and Education and it has passed its initial screening.

The Podcaster turned ADHD Activist and her 'Leopard Print Army' believe that if we unite as a community to push for systemic change, together we can make it happen.
