Holly Matthews is a former TV, actress, self development, coach, and founder of The Happy Me Project.
The Happy Me Project is an online life coaching membership, in person, events, a podcast and a best, selling and award-winning book.
Holly‘s work moved from the world of entertainment after the death of our husband, Ross to Brain Cancer in 2017.
Prior to that, Holly started acting at the age of 11 in the popular children’s TV drama Byker Grove. Holly In real life, Holly signed to Sony, and released a single under the name Summer Matthews in the early 2000s.
Holly, then went on to appear in huge, UK TV programs, such as Waterloo Road, BBC Casualty, daytime soap, opera, Doctors and ITV’s The Bill.
Holly is late, husband Ross was autistic, she is diagnosed with ADHD and her oldest daughter Brooke is also autistic. She describes her younger daughter Texas as Neurotypical-ish due to living in her Neurodivergent household.
Since understanding her own neuro divergence and her families Holly has aimed to make her work as accessible as possible and is constantly learning about how to be better at this.
Within her membership, she has an aware of diversity and brings in guests with all manner of different backgrounds and lifestyles. Her belief within self-development is that the more that we understand ourselves are happier that we will be. The less we pretend to be something that we are not and lean into (with compassion and kindness), who we are the happier we will be. And the more we understand each other and learn about people that are different to us, the happier the world will be.

As a busy widowed, mum of two who navigates her own Neurodivergent Brain Holly believes her job is to help people to feel ‘ more happy and less crappy’ & she does that in a way that is relatable and fun.
