Fredi Nwaka – Biography

Fredi is an Award winning film producer, director actor and an established motivational speaker. He is also an ex rapper and happens to be the only UK rapper to have been signed to the US powerhouse 'Wu Tang' during his career.

Fredi spent most of his early years growing up in South London although he was fostered until the age of nine in Deal, Kent. Once he returned to London he joined a notorious South London gang and also became a bodyguard. He has looked after many famous musicians from The Notorious B.I.G, TLC, Donnel Jones to Rick Ross, Beenie Man and a number of others.

He started his music career in his early teens as a reggae MCee and would perform all over England on sound systems and at Carnival and it wasnt long before he was given his nickname 'Fredi Kruga'. His reggae style soon mutated and fused with his love for Hip Hop and he then became one of the UKs most prolific rappers and opened up shows for artists such as DMX, Jay Z, POV, H Town and many more.

His career as an actor started when he was offered the opportunity to star in a film called 'Dead Man Running ' along side Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Brenda Blethyn, Danny Dyer, Ashley Walters. He then went on to star in numerous other films and his zest to move up in the film World saw him not only grace our TV and cinema screens in many other roles but also teach himself how to write, direct and produce movies and he forged his own Film/TV production companies Are We Dead Yet Films and more recently Nwaka Studios. He has since produced over 11 movies.

Having been part of a notorios gang, Fredi has always had close ties with the 'streets' and so works in schools, prisons and YOTs doing workshops, motivational talks with young people through his company H.e.a.l Daily CIC ( How Emotions Effect Life). He uses his past experiences in gang culture to help educate, inspire and also divert young people away from youth violence as well as doing a great deal of work in the arena of mental health. Especially with young Black men as that's where his passion is.

He is also the founder if the prestigious award show The Power Of A Woman where he honours women of colour and their contribution to the community.
