Veronica Kumeta, co-founder and COO of Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer (LFBC), channels personal tragedy into hope against breast cancer. Alongside Sue Macmaster, Veronica founded LFBC in 2000 after their friend, Carol Knaggs, battled the disease. Veronica’s commitment, sparked by Carol and Sue’s passing, turned grief into action. Under her leadership, LFBC has grown from a heartfelt initiative into a vital organisation, promoting early detection and mobilising resources. Veronica’s advocacy drives community engagement, uniting support workers and dedicated volunteers. Beyond management, she educates on breast cancer, aiming for awareness equal to medical care. Her holistic approach empowers individuals on their cancer journey. Veronica’s leadership honours Carol and Sue through LFBC’s outreach, inspiring resilience against breast cancer. Through dedication, Veronica exemplifies community-centred leadership, making LFBC a pillar of support and advocacy.
