Thames Valley Police (TVP) is a leader in diversity and inclusion, setting national standards by implementing the Police Race Action Plan and the first force to set up its own local Independent Scrutiny and Oversight Board. Recognised as the first force to receive the National Menopause Friendly Employer Award and recognised for the Bronze Trailblazer status for Race Equality, TVP's commitment is clear. In 2024, Community and Diversity Officer Neelam Shiraz won the Community Impact Award. TVP’s Staff Support Networks, a Positive Action and Engagement team, the Leadership Academy, and the Race at Work Charter, have increased a diversity and representation in the workforce. TVP supports initiatives like the Race Equity and Allyship training and Healthy Team Culture workshops, fostering an inclusive environment, their dedication extends to tackling inappropriate behaviour exemplifying their commitment to a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace.
