Simon Sansome, qualified journalist, faced a life-altering injury at 32, leading to early retirement. Despite this, he continued his passion for writing, serving as co-chair of the Disability Journalism Forum and collaborating with the BBC. At DMU, he founded the Facebook Snowball Community, advocating for improved disability access and achieving global recognition with over 20 million monthly viewers. Simon also created the pioneering disability app, Snowball Community, which has almost 100,000 reviews and is the world's largest disability app. His contributions have earned him recognition as one of the UK's most influential disabled figures, including the Digital and Tech Award at the Disability Power 100 in 2023. In 2024, he secured third place at the Santander Global Awards. Additionally, Simon is an acclaimed film/documentary producer, with his Amazon Prime film "Access All Areas" winning 16 international awards.
