Founded in 2019, Radical Weavers is a pioneering organisation dedicated to creating trauma-informed, creative safe spaces that foster therapeutic crafting opportunities for individuals at risk of social isolation due to trauma or loss. Their innovative programmes, including Crafting for Good, Nip & Tuck, and Queer Fashion, empower marginalised groups such as young LGBT people, neurodiverse individuals, and those who feel out of place in traditional settings. Radical Weavers makes a profound impact on the local community by providing job opportunities, reducing antisocial behaviour, and collaborating with numerous local charities. Their commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in all initiatives, from designing unique tartans with resettled refugees to helping long-term unemployed individuals re-enter the workforce or pursue further education.
