Community Organisation Award: Multi-Strand
MyCWA is a Cheshire-based charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. MyCWA offers crisis accommodation, recovery programmes, and practical support. Their services cater to the whole family, impacting nearly 4,000 adults and children last year. For over 45 years, MyCWA has strived to create a community free from the fear of domestic abuse. Their inclusive approach ensures support for marginalised communities, including care leavers, Afghan refugees, and the Polish community. Through their Lighthouse project, MyCWA addresses barriers faced by hidden communities in accessing support. Currently, they focus on improving services for the deaf community, Gypsy, Roma & Traveller (GRT) communities, and trans and non-binary individuals. Their dedicated and incredible staff and volunteers work tirelessly to build a safer and more inclusive community for all.
