Lauren, 21, has Tourette’s Syndrome and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). She is a passionate artist and neurodiversity advocate, representing Tourette’s Action on the National Neurodiversity Youth Council (NNDYC). Through the NNDYC, Lauren has spoken at the Westminster Insight: Neurodiversity in the Workplace Conference and attended the Annual Neurodiversity Conference. This year, she is excited to petition the United Nations in New York for neurodiversity opportunities and change. Lauren is also a landlady at a pub, using her role to educate customers about stigmatised conditions and raise awareness of neurodiversity. She visits schools and colleges to promote a neurodiversity-friendly world. In her free time, Lauren paints and makes jewellery, raising nearly £2000 for charities. Online, Lauren shares her experiences on social media, receiving supportive messages and appearing on Channel 5’s “Teacher with Tourette’s.”
