2024 Shortlisted Nominee
Positive Role Model Award: Disability

Joshua Hoskins, 26, from Tamworth, has 2 jobs and advocates for job opportunities for people with Down’s Syndrome. He left college in 2021 and didn’t think he’d be employed. His brother founded WorkFit, part of the Down’s Syndrome Association. He applied, was interviewed and got a job. In August 2022 he started as a Parts Assistant, 1 day a week. He quickly settled, loving the camaraderie and learning. He thrives in his job and now does 2 days. He started a second job this year with a different employer. He uses LinkedIn weekly to inspire others, encourage workplace inclusion and share learning. He buys food monthly for the local foodbank. He fundraises for 3 charities; he volunteers to support a fishing charity. Joshua’s commitment shows his belief in individuals with Down’s Syndrome and his drive to make a positive impact.
