Community Organisation Award: Age
icandance is a creative, therapeutic community that serves children, young people and families with disabilities. They celebrate the abilities of disabled youth through dance and performance, catering to individuals aged 4 to 25 with complex needs. icandance offers tailored sessions led by a team of disability specialists. Dance offers a unique avenue for non-verbal communication, enabling participants to express and build confidence. By supporting the family as well as the individual young person, icandance fosters a nurturing community that advocates for what is possible and what can be achieved. Through dance, the charity empowers young people with disabilities, helping them gain new skills and find joy in artistic expression within an inclusive environment. icandance believes that dance can amplify the voices of disabled young people, transform communities and challenge society’s view of disability.
