Ian and Sue Rainford realised their dream of creating accessible, luxurious accommodations after their daughter's life-altering accident left her wheelchair-bound. Drawing on Ian's building expertise and Sue's bookkeeping skills, they founded Brickhouse Farm Cottages in Lancashire in 2012. Despite initial challenges without bank support, they built five cottages focused on accessibility. Since opening in 2013, Brickhouse has expanded to include seven more cottages, a hydrotherapy pool, a sensory room, and Lakeside Kitchen, their onsite restaurant. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in July 2023, Brickhouse boasts a 96% occupancy rate and a dedicated team of 62 staff and family members. Their success is evident in the returning customers, who appreciate the welcoming community and accessible facilities. Brickhouse Farm Cottages continues to grow, offering a home away from home for all guests and emphasising collaboration and inclusivity at every step.
