Positive Role Model Award: Gender
Errol Murray founded Leeds Dads, a charitable organisation aimed at empowering dads to engage in positive parenting, strengthen family bonds and fostering confident father-child relationships. Through free SoftPlay, Breakfast Clubs, Forest Schools & Walks, Leeds Dads reaches over 1000 dads/year, particularly in areas of geographic deprivation. These activities offer friendship and wellbeing support, parenting advice, and addresses critical issues like family separation & suicide prevention. Errol also works as a one of the NHS’s handful of Perinatal Partner Peer Supporters helping families when mums experience mental health difficulties relating to pregnancy. He’s helped hundreds of partners to look after their families and themselves at this vulnerable time. Errol says that the more we raise awareness, the more we can reduce mental health stigma and encourage families to reach for help.
