Community Organisation Award: Gender
Endeavour Community Domestic Project, founded in 1997, supports over 2,000 people annually, from birth to age 99, affected by all forms of domestic abuse. With a commitment to #noonegetsleftbehind, Endeavour runs seven bespoke projects providing emotional and practical support, including home emergency packs, school uniforms, food vouchers, and toys. The charity offers specialist BAME services, ensuring access for those marginalised by immigration status and cultural stigma, and collaborates with the LGBT Foundation for monthly drop-in sessions. Endeavour’s Evergreen service addresses the unique needs of clients over 55, often abused by adult children or grandchildren. Pioneering the first UK pet fostering service for abuse victims, Endeavour removes barriers to fleeing by ensuring pets are safely cared for and reunited with their owners. Their holistic approach empowers victims to stay safe in their homes through legal support and targeted safety measures.
