2024 Shortlisted Nominee
Community Organisation Award: Age
The #E Project is a youth service in Scotland for those from adoptive, kinship care, or FASD backgrounds. Led by those with lived experience, it focuses on stage-appropriate groupings rather than age, ensuring participants feel at ease and engaged. Monthly online sessions aim to develop skills, social interactions, confidence, and self-esteem. In-person activities include arts, crafts, photography, and media, supporting educational and career paths while fostering belonging and expanding peer networks. Members actively contribute through a youth advisory board, gaining skills for school, college, and work. The #E Project's #Employability Matters Service enhances job readiness and explores career goals. Discussions on health and wellbeing prepare youth for adulthood, offering tailored support and lifelong skills. With a focus on individual growth and community involvement, the #E Project empowers young people to thrive across all stages of their journey.
