Community Organisation Award: Gender
CyberWomen Groups C.I.C. is on a mission to create an inclusive community that welcomes everyone and encourages positive change towards diversity in STEM. The journey began with the CyberWomen@Warwick initiative, motivated by the low proportion of women studying cyber security courses. Following graduation, the initiative evolved into CyberWomen Groups C.I.C., a non-profit organisation now supporting eight student-led branches across various UK universities, with plans for further expansion. Since its incorporation, the organisation has hosted numerous events, collaborating with students, young people, and industry professionals. Their successful initiatives include conferences, workshops, and hosting Capture the Flag events, all aimed at inspiring and empowering the next generation of leaders in technology. They also provide opportunities for hands-on experience in cyber security, supported by industry experts, fostering a community that promotes learning, networking, and positive change.
