Since 1981 Black Cultural Archives (BCA) has embarked on the journey to collect and preserve materials which redress the historical balance and representation of people of African and Caribbean descent in Britain. BCA is committed to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and understanding through the preservation and celebration of Black cultural heritage. Their mission is to provide a platform for education, engagement, and empowerment within the broader community. Their events provide opportunities for networking and shared experiences, fostering a sense of belonging within the local community. This amazing organisation helps community members connect with their roots and understand their cultural identity, and they play a vital role in preserving the heritage and cultural contributions of Black communities. Through exhibitions, workshops, and educational programs, BCA are doing an incredible job raising awareness about the diverse histories of African and Caribbean descent in the UK.
