Dennis Murray's journey in policing began as a Special Constable in 1991, driven by a passion to enact change despite his challenging upbringing on a council estate marred by crime and poverty. Rising through the ranks, he distinguished himself with the Roger Flawn Memorial Cup and later excelled in hate crime initiatives and community engagement, earning accolades like the David Ryan Memorial Cup and the Pride in Northamptonshire Award. Awarded the Queens Police Medal for his exemplary career and commitment to diversity, Dennis joined Thames Valley Police as Assistant Chief Constable in 2022. Leading initiatives on violence against women and girls (VAWG) and racial equality, he chairs the National Policing DEI Consortium and serves as the NPCC lead for Women of Colour in Policing. Dennis's journey underscores his dedication to reforming policing practices and fostering inclusivity across law enforcement agencies.
