Community Organisation Award: Multi-Strand
Round4RoundAK was a partnership setup in July 2022 with Amir Khan and a team comprising individuals from Bolton and Manchester with over 30 years’ worth of combined experience working on ‘Transformation projects’ with diverse communities. The organisation is based in Amir Khans Gym in Halliwell and has members from across Bolton and beyond who attend sessions. Their aim is to provide a ‘one-stop’ shop for people of all ages to access boxing, fitness, mental health, and well-being support and build a better community model for Bolton focused on togetherness and fairness. They also use sport and physical activity to tackle issues such as reducing anti-social behaviour, serious crime, mental health and the effects of the cost-of-living increase to families and communities. The sessions, rent and bills are currently self-funded by the directors, fees, and free coaching from amazing volunteers.
