Robert was a keen runner, body builder and cyclist, but became part paralysed from the waist down at age 50. Robert is currently a wheelchair rugby player, Hand-cyclist and a wheelchair marathon runner. His journey has called for total commitment and some compromise on adventuring and other aspects of life, but it has taken Robert on incredible inner and outer journeys. In 2014, Robert became a hand-cyclist adventurer and has played his part in building the reputation of disabled hand-cycling in the UK. He has completed many events others believed impossible; these have included hand cycling from Scotland to London, from London to Brighton 11 times, 24 hour endurance race, Ride100, and hand cycling 2,500 miles around the UK coastline in 27 days. This amazing individual has participated in many charity rides over the past 10 years and completed over 15 marathons in his wheelchair.
