Martin founded Texthelp in 1996. He has since spent his work life creating software that helps people read, write and communicate more accurately. To date, Texthelp’s inclusive technology has positively impacted the lives of over 200 million people with conditions such as Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD. Martin’s goal is that by 2030 Texthelp will have supported one billion people worldwide. Martin has previously served on the Assistive Technology Industry Association Board and the NIMAS board for the USA Office of Special Education Programs. In 2017, he received the Presidential Award in recognition of lifetime contribution to dyslexia from the International Dyslexia Association. In 2022 Martin was recognised as best international entrepreneur and was named overall winner of EY Entrepreneur of the Year (Ireland). He is currently serving on the Universal Design for Learning council, and the Brookings Centre for Universal Education.
