In 2021, HCA Healthcare UK responded to colleague feedback about not feeling heard, working in partnership with Global Diversity Practice to conduct in-depth research consultation with the business. This shone a light on what the organisation needed, with a firm committed response from the senior leadership team to foster a better culture of diversity and inclusion for all at HCA. Over 100 colleagues helped to design and shape the new DEIB strategy which aims to create meaningful change and recommends cultural and organisational improvements, steps to connect leadership with colleagues, and encourages honest and open dialogue. Focusing on Leadership, Culture, Talent and Patient Care, the company has transformed to provide exceptional healthcare built on a foundation of inclusion, compassion and respect for patients and for each other. They now have a strong network of DEIB groups across the business.
