2022 Shortlisted Nominee
Diverse Company Award
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service works to be a truly inclusive workplace. We have made great strides in many areas and one that we pride ourselves on is supporting our Dyslexic employees. The Service recognises employees may have other neurodiverse needs and have broadened our support further whilst encouraging staff to raise concerns or additional needs. Our reasonable adjustments programme has been in place for over 15 years providing support, whether for a bad back, mental health, neurodiversity or menopause etc. We encourage education in all these areas and delivered a range of training initiatives. We launched a Voices support group, comprised of various representatives from SFRS, to give staff a voice, someone to talk to and create initiatives. We are proud of the work these reps have achieved and their continued effort to make positive changes.
