Shine 21 Dorset Down Syndrome Buddy Club is a parent-led local group based in Dorset. The community support group provides a local network for families of children and young adults with Down Syndrome, focusing on social activities and the development of friendships. Their aim is to work directly with families and professionals involved with the support and education of children and young people who have Down Syndrome, seeking to inspire a well-balanced and informative understanding of what their children can achieve. This incredible club provide activities from hands on sensory workshops to physical activities and sports. Their baby and toddler group, Little Shiners, provides a monthly meet-up, allowing parents to network whilst their children enjoy a range of sensory toys and craft resources. Therapeutic family days allow young members to learn life skills, social skills and create lasting relationships.
