2022 Shortlisted Nominee
Positive Role Model Award: Disability
Founder of makingtheinvisiblevisble.org.uk, Jessica Logan raises vital awareness of invisible illnesses and disabilities whilst empowering those that live with one. In 2017, Jessica was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, leading to emergency stoma surgery. Despite learning to accept her stoma, Jessica continued to experience health complications including sepsis, blood loss and slow wound healing. Overcoming her own barriers, Jessica has now learned to turn her pain into power by helping others through her charity. Winner of the Charity Fundraiser of the Year at the Natural Beauty Awards, Jessica holds her own series of empowerment photoshoots with a variety of people who suffer from ‘invisble illnesses’ and has also successfully launched ‘Warrior’ – a live pageant event for people with invisible disabilities. Her first event garnered over 30 warriors participating, attracted a 70 strong audience and raised over £1,500 for charity.
