Known as one of the busiest airports in the world, Heathrow Airport is home to four D&I networking groups that represent and support a diverse range of colleagues, including Altitude (women’s network), en-haNCE (culture & ethnicity), The Proud Network (LGBTQ+) and The HAND Network (disability). By putting diversity and inclusion at the forefront of their agenda, initiatives such as reviewing uniforms for LGBTQ+ colleagues, providing free organic products in all female and accessible employee toilets, an autism awareness campaign and the ADHD Umbrella feature in T5 were all implemented with great success. As well as making constant improvements to current D&I policies, the team at Heathrow Airport regularly celebrate events in the diversity calendar and, this year, has championed a neurodiversity awareness initiative gaining an accreditation from the ADHD Foundation.
