Hailed as a symbol of freedom, self-love, and acceptance Edinburgh based Gary Cantwell aka Chichi Monroe is a full time supported sheltered housing coordinator and drag queen. Utilising his social media reach Chichi raises vital awareness of the LGBTQ+ community and provides crucial support to youngsters who may be coming to terms with their identities. Winner of Gran Canaria’s Glay Awards Drag Queen of the Year, Chichi has participated in many fundraising efforts across the globe, resulting in thousands of pounds being raised for several charities including the NHS, Macmillan Cancer Support and Waverley Care. Appearing on an episode of TLC’s ‘Say Yes to the Dress Vegas’, which promoted a very positive LGBTQ Equality message, Chichi is widely known as a friendly, positive, and approachable figure who entertains, educates, and raises awareness wherever possible.
