Positive Role Model Award: Gender
Chanel Morrison-Jolley is the founder of ‘For the Love of Scrubs Birmingham CIC’ (FTLOS) – a project formed in March 2020 as a direct response to the Covid-19 pandemic. With a view to supporting key workers across the West Midlands, Chanel decided to lean on her experience as a fashion model and utilised her creative flair to stay at home, save lives and stitch for the NHS. Providing scrubs and other essential items to key workers, FTLOS has donated over 30,000 items of clothing to hospitals, care homes, SEN specific schools, police forces and GP practices. A passionate advocate for children and young people on the spectrum, and devoted mother of a child with special educational needs, Chanel also set up ‘Spectrum Stars’ a high-quality school holiday provision club exclusively for children with Special Education Needs.
