Community Organisation Award: Age
Founded in 2015, Be The Change are committed to developing young people who are a positive force in their community, and bringing people together who represent Bolton in all its diversity. They support over 200 young people from across the area aged from 11-25 to reach their full potential. Be The Change are a Black led organisation and are particularly successful in engaging with young people from diverse communities who do not attend mainstream youth provision. This incredible organisation delivers regular, accessible and affordable sports provision including football, basketball and boxing, and have expanded drop-in sessions, including dedicated sessions for girls, to provide a safe space for young people to seek advice and support. When possible, they introduce new young people to new activities such as outdoor adventure sessions and have also developed workshops to address issues of knife crime and gun culture.
