Community Organisation Award for LGBT
GYRO supports LGBTQ+ children and young people across Merseyside. They are a part of the Young Person’s Advisory Service (YPAS). YPAS is part of a local CAMHS partnership; supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people at GYRO is their passion. GYRO provide youth groups and 1:1 support to those who identify as LGBTQ+ between the ages of 12-25 years old as well as specific gender identity support for trans, gender questioning and gender diverse children and young people as part of the local CAMHS offer. In 2019-20, they had over 1780 contacts with LGBTQ+ young people. GYRO gets involved in a lot of LGBTQ+ National and local networks and community events including Trans Day of Visibility and LCR Pride and are super passionate about giving LGBTQ+ young people a platform.
